About the first Congress of the Confederation of Labor

Based on our provisions on the transformation of society, we, representatives of independent labor movements and workers' organizations, gathered at our first congress and proclaimed the creation of our association, the Confederation of Labor.



The current situation is such that workers expect their independent organizations to act in a variety of ways.



Official trade unions have not protected workers for many decades, and it is too early to assume that the situation has changed.



We will fight for the immediate interests of working people, support the creation of independent trade unions in every possible way, and cooperate with them (both within and outside the Confederation).



The Confederation of Labor must also participate in the political struggle, because without the active participation of independent movements and organizations of workers, democratization and economic reforms cannot be achieved, and without democracy and reforms, there can be no radical improvement in the lives of working people.



Perhaps in the future, trade unions and political organizations of workers will operate separately. But today it is necessary to unite all our forces.



We need it for mutual reinforcement, mutual assistance, and for organizing joint solidarity actions. We need to unite both to fight for economic interests and to ensure that the peaceful revolutionary-democratic movement in the USSR expands, grows, deepens and wins.



Therefore, the organization we are creating is a broad association of trade union, public, socio-political organizations of workers and all workers. At the same time, the organizations belonging to our Confederation adhere to the following basic principles.



We advocate the creation of real and sustainable guarantees of labor and all other rights, freedoms and interests of workers.



The Confederation will strive for decent conditions for all workers; advocates the creation of a flexible employment and retraining system under the auspices of independent trade unions and workers' organizations. We also consider it our business to represent and defend the rights and interests of children, the elderly, and the disabled.



The Confederation of Labor advocates for the rights and freedoms of military personnel. She will demand to prohibit by law any use of the army against her own people, and to introduce into the Constitution of the USSR a new text of the oath of the army, the KGB and the Ministry of Internal Affairs, excluding the use of force for political reasons against the people. escort Dubai
